- Today we’ll do a shared reading, visual and primary source analysis on Aristocrats and Tyrants Rule and Athens Creates Democracy.

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Go to HMH and open the lesson called Module 8 Lesson 2: The Glory of Athens.
- Review new vocabulary posted on the agenda while I take attendance. You should be able to read each vocabulary word and definition at least twice while I take attendance.
- Today, we’ll pick up where we left off yesterday on Tyrants Rule and Athens Creates Democracy. Let's play Myth and Reality!
- Finally, we'll compare Ancient democracy and modern democracy on the last page of the lesson, Ancient Democracy Differs from Modern Democracy.
- *Exit ticket: Compare and Contrast. Describe how Athenian Direct Democracy is different from American Representative Democracy. Use at least two examples from the reading (see chart). Use complete sentences. Respond in chat.

Students will compare different types of citizenship of ancient Greece, Rome, and the United States, then create a flyer identifying the rights that ancient Greeks had as citizens. |

INSTRUCTIONS:
- Go to Google Classroom and open the assignment called Types of Citizenship.
- We will do a shared reading to learn about different types of citizenship of ancient Greece, Rome, and the United States.
- Now, click on the link in the Types of Citizenship assignment to take you to Canva.
- Activity: Design a flyer that might be sent to people in ancient Greece. Your flyer should identify the rights that the ancient Greeks have as citizens. Use illustrations (pictures/visuals) by searching for "ELEMENTS" in Canva to add to your design. Add "TEXT" elements to support your visuals (use your new knowledge of FONTS and MARRYING TEXT WITH IMAGES you just learned last week in Art class).
- CLICK HERE to follow the video instructions to attach your copy to the Google Classroom assignment. The video is also posted in today’s agenda.
- Click "Turn In" on Google Classroom when complete.
