Due: The Catapult (Seesaw)
Instructions
- Let’s start by watching this video (first 10 minutes only) to learn more about the history of the catapult.
- Click on the Seesaw picture on the right. You will be redirected to our activity in Seesaw.
- We’ll read a brief history of how the catapult helped Alexander the Great conquer his enemies.
- On Seesaw: Look at photographs and drawings of catapults and read about how they work. You should do a quick Google search on catapults so you can see plenty of examples. Then create a design of a catapult. Be sure to label its parts and be able to explain how it would work. You can draw your catapult directly onto Seesaw, but it’s difficult to draw on Seesaw using a computer. I recommend that you draw on a piece of paper and upload your picture to Seesaw. Make sure in your description to do your best to include details as:
- Provide brief history of this type of catapult you chose.
- Add when it was first developed and used.
- Describe who or what people group first developed it and used it.
- Describe how it worked.
