INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Watch these two short videos about how to identify fragments and tips for today’s No Red Ink practice.

2) Go to Clever
3) Select NO RED INK
4) Do the 2 practice sessions which are under the title: Recognizing Fragments with Missing Subjects and Missing Verbs
5) Try to do it on your own, but if you have completed 30 and are still not complete, you should come to tutoring for support so you don’t end up doing a lot more work than you shoud. Some students are only doing 15 or even less of these each level. The system will adjust to your level. Ask for help so you don’t have to do as many if you’re not able to complete this on your own.

2) Read the article and choose a position to debate. DO NOT JUST GO BY YOUR FIRST FEELING ON IT. READ THE ACTUAL ARTICLE.
YOU WILL NEED EVIDENCE FROM THERE. Here is an article debating whether or not fast food should be banned: http://theteenagertoday.com/should-fast-food-outlets-be-banned/
3) Then Sign in to No Red Ink. Remember, to go into Clever first.
4) Choose the assignment: Introduction to Debate - Fast Food.
5) This will be a 6-9 sentence paragraph. Do not make this a full essay. This is just a quick assignment to practice argumentative writing and debate.
6) Write your resolution. Explain what you are arguing for or against.
7) Provide 3 claims with each claim followed by supporting evidence from the article to support your claims. The claims should be in your own words, and then use the actual evidence from the article in your following supporting sentence after each claim.
8) Provide a brief conclusion to summarize your view. Make sure your final line is something memorable to make your reader or audience remember your message or call to action.

Complete your 5th List in Spelling Classroom by next Thursday. |
YOUR LIST: If you are in my Monday/Wednesday classes, you should start and complete 6th Grade List 15. For my Tuesday/Thursday Classes, you should start and complete 6th Grade List 6. For those in the Tuesday/Thursday Lions, you should start and complete List 25. Your list is always due the next Thursday by 3:00pm.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you want to learn more challenging words, you can try out the Journeys lists or other lists you may notice outside of the Vocabulary Word Lists by Grade. If you need help with your reading level or if learning English, you should also be doing lists on your own from 2nd-5th grade lists. C) Login to Spelling Classroom. Then select Lists. Then scroll down to the middle of the page to select Vocabulary Word Lists by Grade. Select the Grade Level and list number you were told to start from. (Email me if you missed class and aren't sure what list to start from.)
D) Complete 1 List. A complete list means you did each one of these parts in order.
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY CREDIT FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT IF ALL THESE ARE NOT COMPLETE.
