INSTRUCTIONS:
- Remember to study for the No Red Ink Semester Test which will be this Wednesday and Thursday. You will have questions from all four major types of the grammar lessons we practiced. This test has 30 questions and will count for one Summative Test. This will have a big impact on your grade and could help a lot of grades if you practiced previous lessons, have come to tutoring for support, did the review lessons, and studied.
- Students should know subjects and verbs, know a sentence is a fragment, identify if a comma is needed in compound and complex sentences as well as where to put the commas when needed. Students should study the capitalization list and be familiar how to capitalize as practiced in the No Red Ink capitals assignments.
- These quizzes have to be taken in class in front of the teacher with no help from parents, guardians, siblings, or using any online resources.
- Remember. come to tutoring if you need to review any grammar topics. However, you should have tried the other grammar practice quizzes first or have examples to work on from the previous No Red Ink quizzes.
- FOR TODAY: Review the Conclusion paragraph notes.
- Review the document "Powerful Persuasive Words" in Google class. Use some of these words and phrases throughout your essay to make your writing sound more persuasive.
- Construct conclusion paragraph in the conclusion paragraph box on the Argumentative Essay in No Red Ink.
- Finish Introduction and any Body paragraph outlines, and submit your full essay typed on No Red Ink.
- Review your work and make any last changes to improve grammar or to make your writing more persuasive.

IN ORDER TO WATCH THE MOVIE THE GIVER:
*Remind your parents or guardians to reply back to my ParentSquare message with The Giver Movie Permission slip. Students without permission slips will not be able to watch the movie with us next week. If your parent or guardian is not on ParentSquare, he or she must speak to Ms. Nunley to get set up on ParentSquare. Have your parent or guardian email me if there are any problems. If you are not allowed to watch the movie with us, you must still check in during the first five minutes to get credit for attendance. We will have to start the movie on time. Students later than 5 minutes will not be allowed in class and will miss that half of the movie during that class as well as receive an absence. The zoom will be locked after 5 minutes on these days.

- Go to No Red Ink and select: Semester 1 Summative Grammar Test
- These quizzes have to be taken in class in front of the teacher with no help from parents, guardians, siblings, or using any online resources.
- Students who do not finish within their class period should plan on working through their next independent period to stay and finish. If a student must go to a class, he or she must come to tutoring that day right away and must not have worked on any of their quizzes while away from the teacher. Anything not completed this day will result in the final grade unless a student was absent.
- If a student is absent, he or she cannot complete the test on his or her own and must come to tutoring to go to the opposite A or B class to finish.
- Any work completed on these quizzes outside of class will not be counted toward your grade and will be treated as incomplete. You will only be scored on work you did on this test while with the teacher.
