OBJECTIVE: Demonstrate proficiency in writing complete simple sentences.
|
DUE (End of school day - 3:00 pm): All will take the Grade 6 Module Pretest: The Sentence. Some will watch The Sentence video depending on your Pretest score. All will do 30 minutes of Waggle practice with sentences.
|
1) Log in to HMH.
2) Take the Grade 6 Module Pretest: The Sentence
3) Please pay attention to when the questions change from asking subject to predicate or other directions. Review any examples you are given to guide you.
4) If you receive a passing score of 20 or more correct, then go on to Waggle practice which will be assigned as: SENTENCES. Set a timer online or on your phone and do 30 minutes of practice. If you do not finish the 30 minutes before your next class, finish later on. You can always work on more too. *If you scored 20 or more, you do not need to come to tutoring today.
5) If you scored lower than 20, then you will watch the video lesson: The Sentence Introduction Lesson which you will see below.
6) Those scoring less than 20 will then come to tutoring at 1:45 today. Join through my class Zoom link. You will then go through Waggle practice with me for support as needed to work on the assignment: SENTENCES.
7) Remember, it is totally okay to not receive a passing score on pretests. These are pretests to see what you may already know. This score will not hurt your grade. You will be graded on completing the Pretest and doing the Waggle Practice. These are two separate grades that will go in to PowerSchool. It is always okay to need support for any subject. I am here to help you. Your goal is to get as much support in the areas you need support in so you will be stronger in those areas.
8) Eventually, you will take an assessment on these grammar skills which will be used toward your overall class grade. So that score will matter. It is important you receive all the help you can anywhere you need it leading up to those assessments. And I want to help you improve not just for tests, but to have these skills for your career and life.
